Clinical Research Study

Are you diagnosed with a chronic pulmonary disease?

Do you have currently any cardiovascular risk factors?

  •  Chronic Obstructive Pulmonary Disease
  •  Asthma
  •  Interstitial Lung Diseases
  •  Cystic Fibrosis
  •  Lung Cancer
  •  Inactive lifestyle
  •  Current or past smoker
  •  High blood pressure
  •  Unhealthy diet
  •   Overweight or Obesity

 

The Pulmonary Rehabilitation Research Laboratory at St Paul’s Hospital is recruiting subjects for a study investigating the beneficial effects of exercise on cardiovascular health in patients with chronic lung diseases. 

Eligibility:

* 19 or more years of age

* Stable lung condition

* Physician Referral for St. Paul’s Pulmonary Rehabilitation Program

* Able to read and understand English (or have access to an English speaking translator)

Cardiovascular Health Assessment will include measurements of:

• Endothelial Function

• Arterial Compliance

• Peripheral Arterial Disease

 • Blood Markers for Cardiovascular Risk

Time Commitment:

Each patient will visit us twice: before and after pulmonary rehabilitation program.

Each visit will take approximately 4 hours.
